Wandering Thoughts: Don’t Throw Sen. Al Franken Away

WISCONSINREPORT.COM 11-17-20017 – Let’s get real. It was bound to happen. The stampede of ME-TOO-ism is muddying up the waters and, unintentionally, I’m sure, dirtying some fine people who have been doing some otherwise great things. Some of them, such as Minnesota U.S. Senator Al Franken (above photo insert-left), have apparently not done anything terrible enough to warrant them resigning. In Franken’s case, it’s just does not appear to be warranted.

Senator: Republicans Ignored Will Of People In Gun Action

WISCONSINREPORT.COM (04/21/2015) – Wisconsin State Senator Chris Larson is saying Republicans decided to ignore the will of the public, and side with special interest groups, by repealing Wisconsin’s 48-hour cooling-off period on purchasing handguns. The Milwaukee Democrat says polling has shown the majority of residents in Wisconsin want background checks, but Republican legislators went the other way.

Supreme Court Validates Voter ID By Not Hearing The Case

WISCONSINREPORT.COM (03/23/2015) – The United States Supreme Court failed to take up the challenge to the State’s Voter ID law. That effectively validates the law, putting it into effect. However, it will not go into effect until after the current April 7th election process, which is already in progress.

Wisconsin Senate Sends Right To Work to State Assembly

WISCONSINREPORT.COM (02/26/2015) – The Wisconsin Senate sent the Right To Work bill to the State Assembly for further action last night when the Senate voted 17 to 15 to pass it. Senate President Mary Lazich says Senate Bill 44 allows employees to be employed without being required to pay union dues. Opponents say that will destroy Unions and bring wages down.

Legislators Trying To Bring BadgerCare Back For 81,000

WISCONSINREPORT.COM (02/17/2015) – Wisconsin Assembly Representative Daniel Riemer (D), Milwaukee, and Senator Jon Erpenbach (D), Middleton, are circulating a bill that will guarantee health coverage to more than 80,000 uninsured Wisconsinites while saving Wisconsin hundreds of millions of dollars, greatly reducing the threatening budget deficit.
