New Cutoff Reception Time for the Adams County Register of Deeds

Beginning January 1st, 2018, the cutoff reception time for receiving documents to be recorded the same business day will be 4:00 PM at the Adams County Register of Deeds Office. Adams County Register of Deeds Jodi Helgeson said it’s not necessarily a new procedure as they’ve been doing this by policy for several years and simply had it formalized by county ordinance this November. Helgeson said it allows them time to review a batch of documents and record them prior to the official end of business day which is currently 4:30. Mauston Common Council Approves Proposed Water Main

The Mauston Common Council approved the installation of a new water main extension along the undeveloped portion of Treml Drive, east of the WTC campus at its meeting last Tuesday. The cost is not expected to exceed $5,000. The motion passed unanimously by roll call vote. The council also approved Ordinance 2017-1097, which eliminates the treasurer’s tax collection bond as authorized by state statute. City Administrator Nathan Thiel said recent legislation requires the municipality to carry a tax collection bond for the Treasurer equal to the entire levy the City would collect unless this ordinance is in place.
