Drugs & Firearms Seized Near Ontario
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 2 suspects and seized a large amount of drugs and firearms, after a search warrant in the Town of Sheldon, near Ontario.
On September 16th, shortly after 4:30 p.m. a search warrant was served at an address on Opportunity Rd, Ontario, WI. During the search of the residence, investigators located over two pounds of methamphetamine, as well as lesser amounts of suspected heroin, fentanyl, marijuana, and other narcotics and prescription pills.
Along with the drugs, investigators located 25 firearms of different make, model, and caliber, some of which are believed to be stolen.
Gabriel Wilcox, 34, and Ember Powell, 28, were both arrested for maintaining a drug trafficking place, with additional charges pending the completion of the investigation. Wilcox is restricted from possessing firearms due to previous felony convictions.
The investigation was a joint effort between the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, West Central Metropolitan Enforcement Group (WCMEG), and the Richland- Iowa- Grant Task Force. The La Crosse County Sheriff’s Office, Vernon County Sheriff’s Office, Richland County Sheriff’s Office, and Richland Center Police Department also assisted in the investigation. The warrant was served by the Monroe County Combined Tactical Unit.
