Westfield Man, Wisconsin Rapids Couple Facing Burglary Charges
A Wisconsin Rapids couple along with a Westfield man is facing charges of Burglary – Arming Self With a Dangerous Weapon and a Misdemeanor Theft Charge. On August 14th 2017 Adams County authorities reported to a Town of Adams home. The victim told authorities his home was broken into while he was out having his routine morning breakfast. The victim said he had a pair of safes broken into. One safe had numerous valuables such as casino tokens, money, and the deed to his house; the other safe had fire arms stored in it. On August 16th Wood County Child Services along with a Wisconsin Rapids Detective made an unannounced home visit to Victoria Durkee 24, of Wisconsin Rapids. In the house they identified a man who seemed to be in hiding and four guns that were reported missing from the Adams robbery. The man in hiding initially gave a false name before being identified as Anthony Porter 26, of Wisconsin Rapids. On September 1st of 2017 authorities were notified of some of the missing items attempting to be pawned off by William Challoner 29, of Westfield. A hold was placed on the items. Authorities again talked to the victim, and he said he knew Durkee. He said Durkee had been a regular at his house over the past 7 to 8 years and knew of his morning schedule.
