Vernon County Accident State Highway 35 South
On Saturday August 1, 2020 at approximately 6:00 AM the Vernon County Dispatch Center was notified of a single motor vehicle crash. The crash occurred on State Highway 35 South of State Highway 162 in a construction zone. The operator of the motor vehicle was identified as 54-year-old Kao Vang of Lacrosse. Vang went around a road closed sign into a construction area. Vang stuck a pile of gravel in the roadway causing the vehicle to overturn. The vehicle continued over and came to rest on its wheels on top of some cement forms that were laying alongside the road. No construction workers were present at the time of the accident. Vang was transported to Gundersen Health Systems in Lacrosse by Tri-State ambulance Service for his non-life-threatening injuries.
Assisting at the scene was the Stoddard Fire Department and First Responders and Tri State Ambulance.
The incident remains under investigation by the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office.
