Tomah PD Finds Meth in Mauston Mans Vehicle

A 39 year old Mauston man has been referred to the Monroe County District Attorney for drug charges.  Authorities were alerted by a caller, that a man sitting in a parking lot in Tomah’s industrial park had meth on him. The caller said the meth was hidden in a can of potato chips under the front seat.  The caller also identified the license plate numbers.  The vehicles plates were registered to Lewis Stewart of Mauston.  The car was unoccupied at the time the K9 unit was used to sniff out the car exterior.  The sniff of the vehicle alerted cops of the presence of meth.  During an interior search authorities found a smoking pipe with residue inside, blue gem baggies also with residue, and a clear gem baggie with a crystal substance inside.  Stewart claimed to know the identity of the caller and denied being aware of the drugs in his car.  Stewart is innocent until proven guilty.
