School District of Mauston Superintendent Weymouth Announces She Will Retire Effective June 30, 2019
On behalf of the School District of Mauston Board of Education, I wish to inform our school community that Superintendent Dr. Christine M. Weymouth has announced that she will be retiring at the end of the school year. Dr. Weymouth has been with the District since 2012.
“I have had the distinct privilege and honor to work alongside a thoughtful and compassionate Board of Education, a caring and talented staff, a visionary and competent Leadership Team and a wonderful and inspiring student body and giving community. I believe that the School District of Mauston is in a better place than when I arrived. Our schools have evolved into a school district of choice, and one that is progressively moving forward in student growth with organizational and community systems that are strategically aligned to support children and youth. I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to build relationships and impact a school community to actualize its potential. I look forward to spending time with family and relocating to beautiful Door County this summer. For now, we still have important work to accomplish in our fine school district!”
The Board of Education wishes to thank Dr. Weymouth for her leadership and her commitment to our children, staff and community. The Board is excited to continue the District’s work with Dr. Weymouth and staff through this school year. The Board has anticipated Dr. Weymouth’s retirement for the past year. Announcing Dr. Weymouth’s retirement in October is an intentional plan giving the Board 6 months to select its future superintendent. Dr. Weymouth’s last day on the job will be June 30, 2019.
In the next few weeks, the Board of Education will be meeting to determine a process for going forward to fill the superintendent position that will begin July 1, 2019. We look forward to providing the staff and community with information updates in the near future.
