Report: Brewers Release Lefty Specialist Boone Logan
The Milwaukee Brewers have cut ties with left handed reliever Boone Logan, according to the team’s official transactions page. Logan was designated for assignment on June 19th, and has passed through waivers. He will now be free to sign with any team, and that team will be responsible for a pro-rated minimum MLB salary while the remainder of Logan’s $2.5 mil salary will be the responsibility of the Brewers. Logan was injured near the end of spring training, and Milwaukee signed left-handed reliever Dan Jennings shortly after he was released by Tampa Bay just before the start of the Championship Season. When Logan returned he only worked 10.2 innings over 16 appearances, and was largely ineffective. Logan had an ERA of 5.91.
