National Drug Take Back – October 27th, 2018
On October 27th, the Juneau County Sheriff’s Office, Elroy Police Department, Mauston Police Department, New Lisbon Police Department and SAFE in Juneau County will be joining other agencies across the great state of Wisconsin to participate in the Prescription Drug Take Back event sponsored by the Dose of Reality Campaign. This initiative is a great opportunity for individuals to bring unwanted, unused, or expired prescriptions to be disposed of safely and in an environmentally friendly manner. This initiative also prevents potential for theft and misuse or abuse of prescription medications.
Mauston Police Department: 8:30am to 12:30pm
Elroy Police Department: 9:00am to 1:00pm
New Lisbon Police Department: 1:00pm to 3:30pm
Remember to keep your medications properly stored in your home to avoid accidental ingestion or misuse. All medications should be kept out of sight and out of reach of children. Medications should ideally be stored in a locked box, locked cabinet, or locked safe. Avoid keeping medications in a purse, bag, car, or countertop where they can easily be accessed. If you need a prescription drug lock box, contact Tara with SAFE at 608-847-9403 or tnoye@co.juneau.wi.us.
SAFE in Juneau County’s mission is to improve the lives of children, youth, and adults by mobilizing communities to prevent and treat alcohol, tobacco, and prescription drug abuse in Juneau County.
