Mauston Man Uses Bicycle to Try to Flee From Authorities

A 25 year old Mauston man is facing multiple charges after he led Mauston officers on a chase.  A Mauston Police Officer noticed Derrick Sharp Andrus riding his bicycle near the library on September 18th.  The officer recognized Sharp Andrus and new he had warrants out for his arrest.  When Sharp Andrus noticed the police officer he began speed peddling off on his bicycle.  The officer let other law officers know Sharp Andrus was fleeing authorities.  The bicycle wove through heavy traffic while being followed by authorities.  Sharp Andrus then rode his bicycle through a yard where he crashed his bike and began taking off on foot where he hid behind a truck and was finally found and placed under arrest.  Authorities found a loaded syringe, sever small rocks, a crystal dust substance believed to be meth along with what was believed to be marijuana.  Sharp Andrus is facing charges of Resisting Arrest, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Felony Bail Jumping.
