Vernon County Sheriff John Spears reports the sheriff’s office is receiving complaints about a telephone scam, wherein local numbers appear on your caller ID and/or Smart TV.  The callers proceed to ask for information in order to update credit card records and personal information. In several reports, the number listed on the caller ID showed up as the La Farge Zzip Stop.  These calls are not connected to this local business. The La Farge Zzip Stop Owner, Shane Nottestad, is working with the sheriff’s office to resolve this issue and protect La Farge area residents.
