A Tomah man suffered life-threatening injuries after falling out the bed of a pickup truck. Monroe County Sheriff Scott Perkins said early Friday, they has received a call from Tomah Memorial Hospital reference to a subject that had fallen out of a pickup truck. Perkins said a truck driven by 21-year-old Dylan Kobel of rural Tomah was eastbound on Highway 16 by Hawthorne Road when a passenger, 23-year-old  Dustin Yenter, who was riding in the bed of the pickup truck fell out striking his head on the pavement. County Truck Highway “M” will be closed between Hertz Avenue and Interior Road in the Town of Tomah beginning Monday, September 18, 2017. The closure is necessary in order to replace the failing bridge immediately west of Hertz Avenue. The project is expected to be completed and the highway reopened by October 31st. The existing bridge will be removed by the Monroe County Highway Department. Radtke Contractors, Incorporated of Winneconne has been awarded a $146,500 contract to construct the new bridge, a single-span timber structure.
