Derek P Carpenter, 34 years of age, from Baraboo, Wisconsin has been arrested by the WisconsinState Patrol DeForest Post for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 4th offense.At approximately 7:05pm on Thursday, January 11, 2024, Wisconsin State Patrol received acomplaint about a possible intoxicated driver on the interstate near Wisconsin Dells. State Patroltroopers successfully located the vehicle in Mauston and observed driving behaviors consistent withan intoxicated driver. After a traffic stop, troopers determined the subject was likely impaired andperformed standardized field sobriety tests on the driver. Based on their observations, troopersplaced the 34-year-old male driver under arrest for OWI 4th Offense. Wisconsin State Patrol wasassisted by Juneau County Sheriffs

01/08         Christian Brueggen, Cashton, was following a horse and buggy northbound on State Highway 27, town of Christiana.  Brueggen attempted to pass the buggy on the left, and the horse ran into Brueggen’s vehicle, causing extensive damage.  The horse and buggy continued without stopping.  The identity of the operator of the buggy is unknown at this time.
