A rollover accident resulted in the driver being ejected out the passenger side window. Vernon County Sheriff John Spears said at about 10:40am Wednesday, John E. Jones of rural Viroqua was southbound on County Road B in the town of Jefferson when an unknown animal ran into the road. In an attempt to avoid hitting the animal, Jones swerved and lost control of his vehicle, causing it to go over an embankment and roll onto its side. Spears said Jones was ejected through the passenger side window. He was medically transported to Gundersen Health Systems in LaCrosse via MedLink Air. The accident remains under investigation.
