The Adams County Sheriff’s Office is releasing the following information pursuant to Wisconsin State Statute 301.46(2m) which authorizes law enforcement agencies to inform the public of a sex offender’s release when, in the discretion of the agency, the release of information will enhance public safety, awareness and protection. The individual who appears on this notification has been convicted of a sex offense. Further, his criminal history places him in a classification level which reflects the potential to re-offend. Holiday Hunt for Select Farmland Zone Units Begins Dec. 24

Hunters can look forward to additional deer hunting opportunities during late archery and crossbow seasons, as well as the antlerless-only “holiday hunt” in select deer management units. The antlerless-only holiday hunt will be offered in 17 Farmland Zone units, including farmland units in Adams and Sauk County, from December 24 through January 1. The holiday hunt is offered in these units based on recommendations from County Deer Advisory Councils where added opportunity to harvest antlerless deer is offered to help reach antlerless harvest goals and the county deer population objective. Travelers Face Busy Holiday Period Once Again

AAA predicts 2.2 million Wisconsin residents will travel at least 50 miles from home over the Christmas and New Year’s holiday period.  The nationwide project tops 107 million and both estimates represent a new record for the ninth straight year. Most will drive and the roads will be the busiest on December 20th and 21st. Those will be the days commuters will be heading home from work and when holiday travelers are leaving for their destinations.
