The Juneau County Board approved 15 land sales at its meeting Tuesday morning. The total of all the sales equaled over $96,500. Lands, Forestry, Parks and Zoning Committee Chairperson Ed Wafle said that the county was able to pay back about $40,000 in delinquent taxes and still netted about $56,000 on those properties. Wafle said they have 12 tax delinquent properties left. All the land sales were approved unanimously. Alliant Energy has received record numbers of customers reporting scam phone calls.  Customers also report that scammers are getting better at impersonating utilities. Since December 1, Alliant Energy received 150 reports of scam phone calls from Wisconsin customers.  Typically, scammers call customers claiming to represent Alliant Energy. They threaten to disconnect utility service if the customer doesn’t immediately buy a prepaid credit card to make a payment. In one case, a customer reported receiving a text message from someone stating that they work for Alliant Energy and needed a call about their bill.
