Huge Fire in Tomah on Superior Ave.

On 2/23/2024 at 05:17pm, the Tomah Fire Department was dispatched to the 1100 block of Superior Ave. for the report of a structure fire. First arriving personnel reported heavy fire and smoke showing from the North side of 1102 Superior Avenue, growing quickly. There were reports that an explosion took place. Due to the initial report, along with the building type and construction, auto aid was provided from Fort McCoy Fire Department, and mutual aid was requested from Oakdale Fire Department and the Town of Lincoln Fire Department for an engine and manpower. Shortly later, Fire Chief Adler pulled a MABAS box alarm to the 3rd level requesting more resources.

Friendship Man Arrested for 4th Offense OWI

BRADLEY R. MENARD, 36 years of age, from Friendship, WI has been arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol DeForest Post for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 4th offense. While on routine patrol, a Wisconsin State Trooper came across a truck in the median near the 91.5 eastbound mile marker on I90/94. The trooper located MENARD at the scene. MENARD advised the trooper that he had swallowed cocaine while he was driving. An Operating While Impaired investigation ensued. MENARD declined to participate in Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. MENARD was placed under arrest for OWI 4th and transported to the hospital for medical clearance and a legal blood draw prior

Nolet, Martin “Pastor Marty” Age 79 of Adams County

Martin “Pastor Marty” Nolet, age 79, passed away peacefully on February 21st from an acute illness and Alzheimer’s Disease. Though Alzheimer’s stole many of his memories and coordination, it did not steal his good nature and sense of humor. Marty spent his early life growing up in the Milwaukee area. He served the United States Air Force in the late 1960s, serving as a radar intercept operator. After training in Texas and Mississippi, his first duty station was in Duluth Minnesota where he met his first wife, Patricia. He was then transferred to West Germany the following year and they enjoyed travelling throughout Europe. Marty graduated with a Bachelor of Science
