Explosion Rocks Superior Refinery

An explosion rocked a large refinery in Wisconsin Thursday, injuring several people, a fire official said. The blast at the Husky Energy oil refinery happened at about 10 a.m. Five people were taken to hospitals in Duluth, Minnesota, Superior Fire Chief Steve Panger told The Associated Press. He doesn’t know the extent of their injuries. Others were walking wounded. There were no known fatalities. A spokesperson for Essentia Health said 11 people were transported to hospitals in Duluth and Superior. There is no word on the severity of the injuries. Ed Brooks Re-Election Decision Could Come as Soon as Next Week  

A decision could come as soon as next week from 50th District Assemblymen Ed Brooks on whether he will seek re-election or not.  Brooks joined State Senator Howard Marklein for a listening session at the Lyndon Station Village Hall Thursday.  Brooks said he would like to run but it all comes down to his health.  Brooks will discuss with his doctor soon to determine if another run for assembly is in order.  Brooks says if he cannot run he would like to see one of his staff members seek the 50th District.  Art Shrader from Reedsburg will run for the position as the democratic candidate.  Shrader lost to Brooks back

2 Juneau County Residence Break-ins Appear to be Similar

A pair of break-ins has occurred in the rural Mauston area.  Juneau County Sheriff’s department reported to burglaries in both Marion and Kildare Townships.   Both Break-ins took place in April and both break-ins led to property damage, although nothing was stolen at either one.  Both break-ins were caught on a trail cam involving a male with a slim build.  At this point WRJC.com News is unsure if the break-in are connected.  If anyone has any information on these break-ins they can call the Juneau County Sheriff’s Department at (608) 847-5649.  Callers can remain anonyms.
