Judge Orders Chippewa Falls Woman To Get Mental Health Evaluation

A woman accused of stalking and attacking a man must undergo a mental health evaluation.  The victim says he met 21-year-old Courtney Subatch on the social media platform Tinder last year.  He says after they had sex she returned, walking into his apartment a few days later.  The Eau Claire man says she tried to steal prescription medications and, when he told her to leave, she held a knife to his throat and demanded money.  Two days after that, she came back again, and police caught her trying to climb in through a window with a knife in her hand.  Subatch entered a guilty plea to three charges, including stalking.

Four-Year-Old Dies After Fall From Truck Cab

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal accident in which a four-year-old boy was killed after falling out of a truck cab.  Officers say 45-year-old Jason Wachter of Woodman was driving on Highway C, approaching the intersection of Highway 133, at around 5:30 P-M Friday when the accident occurred. Deputies say four-year-old Kage Wachter was sitting next to the passenger door of the truck, when it swung open, and he fell out. The boy was hit by the rear tires and became unresponsive. Investigators say Jason Wachter, along with a passerby, attempted lifesaving measures, before emergency responders arrived, but the boy could not be revived. The incident remains

April Snow Creates Record-Setting Year At Granite Peak Ski Resort

Not everybody was disappointed when a blizzard roared through parts of Wisconsin last month.  Granite Peak Ski Resort in Wausau set records when the season was extended — twice — to May 6th.  It was originally scheduled to end in mid-April and the resort had never been open for skiing in May.  The winter season at the location in central Wisconsin also opened a little earlier than normal.  Skiers hit the slopes November 17th, but a warm-up temporarily stopped snow production a few days later.
