Shelby Hale and Addison Gilbertson competed in International Business at the FBLA State Leadership Conference in Green Bay recently. Based on the score they received on an objective test, they advanced to the finals competition by placing in the top 8 in their event. Their competition for the finals round consisted of a 7-minute role play performed in front of three judges with questions and answers from those judges.   They placed 6th overall. One person sustained injuries in a single motorcycle crash on Sunday afternoon. On Sunday, April 14, 2024, at about 3:23 pm, The Monroe County 911 Communications Center received a 911 call regarding a single motorcycle crash on State Highway 33 near the Town of Portland. The operator, Carl R. Schmidt, was traveling East on State Highway 33 and failed to negotiate a curve. The motorcycle had left the roadway and lost control on the gravel shoulder. The motorcycle and operator both fellto the gravel and traveled rough 50 yards before coming to a rest.The operator was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and sustained serious injuries

The Royall Panther Baseball team held off Brookwood 6-4 Monday night in Scenic Bluffs Conference action.  Royall jumped out in front in the 2nd inning getting an RBI single from Cole Eberhardt and a 2run double from Carter Uppena. Brookwood came back and tied the game in the top of the third inning thank to a two run single by Hunter Zimmerman.  Tyrus Wildes answered with an RBI single in the bottom of the third to put Royall on top for good at 4-3.  Tucker Wildes had an RBI single in the 4th and another run scored on an error giving Royall a 6-3 lead.  Gunnar Wopat came on in
