On 04/17/2024 at approximately 8:38 PM, Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a reported hit and run traffic crash at Main Street and S. Water Street, in the Village of Norwalk. The suspect vehicle was later located behind an address on Main Street in Norwalk.   As Deputies attempted contact at the front door of the suspected driver’s residence, a single gunshot was heard from inside the residence. The roommate to the suspect quickly exited the residence and was detained by deputies. A second male was inside the residence, who was later to be determined to be the shooter. The shooter was identified as Eduardo Gomez Jimenez (18 years old).

It was a big day for the Massey brother and the Mauston Golden Eagles baseball team on Thursday earning a beefy 15-3 wins over Westfield in South Central Conference action.  Brock Massey had a home run and 3 RBI’s in the win and also pitched 5 scoreless innings striking out 14 batters.  Heath “Beef” Massey had a pair of hits and drove in 4 runners in the victory.  Mauston improves to 4-1 on their season and 2-0 in conference action.  Source: WRJC.com

The Royall Panthers routed Cashton 10-0 in six innings Thursday night in Scenic Bluffs Conference baseball action. Gunnar Wopat pitched a no hitter for the Panthers.  Wopat faced the minimum walking just one batter but picking him off at first base.  Wopat got plenty of offense behind him as every started in the Panther lineup had at least one hit.  Wopat had a pair of hits himself.  Cole Eberhardt also added 2 hits and 2RBIs.  The win improves Royall to 3-1 in the Scenic Bluffs Conference.  Cashton drops to 4-1 in Conference action.  Royall will host a triangular vs Melrose-Mindoro and Weston on Saturday.  Both Royall games can be heard
