Three Possible Candidates Consider Running for Congressman Duffy’s Seat
At least three people are considering a run for Congress in Wisconsin’s Seventh District. Representative Sean Duffy announced he’s leaving office in late September to help care for a baby due in October that is facing medical complications. Republican state Senator Tom Tiffany of Minocqua says he’s talking with family, friends and supporters about running for Duffy’s seat. Democratic state Representative Nick Milroy of Douglas County and Senator Janet Bewley of Bayfield County are also potential candidates. The winner of a special election would serve the remaining year of Duffy’s term. Governor Evers needs to schedule the special election to fill Duffy’s seat.
