Green, Genevieve P. Age 95 of Elroy
Genevieve P. Green, age 95 years, of Elroy, Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at the Mile Bluff Medical Center in Mauston.
She was born on June 7, 1923 in La Farge, the daughter of George and Sylvia (Boldon) Bender. Genevieve was united in marriage to Raymond E. Green on June 6, 1942, they were parents to eight sons and three daughters. Raymond preceded her in death on January 22, 1974.
Survivors include her children: Richard (Jennifer) of Weyerhaeuser, WI, Rita (Richard) Zietlow of Friendship, WI, Joanne (Don) Wopat of Elroy, Dennis of Forsyth, MO, Wanda Dogs (Rick Fields) of Elroy, Douglas (Judy) of Elroy, David (Lori) of Elroy, Rodney of Elroy, and Steven (Colleen) of Elroy. Twenty-one Grandchildren, Forty-four Great Grandchildren, Three Great Great Grandchildren, sister-in-law, Marie Bender of Elroy and many nieces and nephews.
Genevieve was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, son, Larry Allen (July 30, 1957), son, Roger Duane (May 5, 1989), grandson, Ronald Crosby (Sept 24, 1964), son-in-law, John Dogs (July 1, 2004), daughter-in-law, Kaye (Dunlap) Green (March 13, 2016), parents, George and Sylvia Bender; brothers, Thurston (Elrena), Gerald (Sena), Frank (Dorothy), Bernard (Alice), Albert (Marlene), Delmar, Virgil, Adolph (LeeBerta) and sister, Mildred (Jim) Pallister.
Genevieve kept very busy caring for her children and patching jeans for all her boys. She always planted a big garden which she enjoyed and just recently mentioned being home to plant and work in her garden.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Grace Lutheran Church, with Rev. James Gerth officiating. Burial will be in the Elroy City Cemetery.
