Sheriff Oleson Cited for Failure of Operator to Prevent/Leaking Load After Causing Accident

On October 15, at approximately 12:45 pm, Sheriff Brent Oleson was moving a microwave radio antenna from Necedah to the Juneau County Sheriff’s Office.  The antenna was not secured properly and                blew out of the back of the pick-up into the path of a northbound vehicle on Hwy 58th North of Mauston, just south of 47th Street.  A northbound vehicle, driven by a thirty-five year old New Lisbon woman, swerved to avoid the antenna, entering the east ditch and striking a utility pole.  The woman was transported to Hess Hospital by Mauston Area Ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.  The Wisconsin State Patrol investigated the accident. As of today’s date the investigation is complete.  As a result, Sheriff Oleson was issued a citation for Failure of Operator to Prevent/Leaking Load.
