Juneau County Authorities use Tire Deflating Spikes To Slow Down Baraboo Man During Chase

A Baraboo man led authorities on a high speed chase through Juneau County.  State patrol watched a vehicle enter I90/94 westbound near exit 92.  The vehicle came up on the patrolmen’s computer as stolen.  As the patrolmen began to follow the vehicle the subject’s vehicle began to speed up.  The subject’s vehicle traveled at speeds of 90 miles per hour. Juneau County Authorities helped out by placing tire deflating spikes on the road to slow down the vehicle.  The spike strips worked to slow down the vehicle and it eventually stopped but the drive fled.  The driver was eventually tracked down and identified him as 20 year old McCoy Georgeson.  Georgeson says the vehicle belongs to his girlfriend but they both make payments on it.  He said he ran from authorities because he was being stupid and was afraid to go to jail.  Georgeson is facing charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Owner’s Consent, Attempting to Flee or Elude and Officer, and Resisting an Officer.
