Tomah Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Store Closing Down
For the last 67 years, the Tomah Memorial Hospital Auxiliary has been in existence and for 66 of those years the organization has operated a resale store in downtown Tomah.
Both are coming to an end.
Hospital C-E-O Phil Stuart said due to a decline in membership and growing age of current members, both the Auxiliary and its Auxiliary Bargain Corner… known as the A-B-C store at 1104 Superior Avenue….. will end operations next month.
Stuart said the Auxiliary has a long history in the community predating construction of Tomah Memorial Hospital, and has been a vital philanthropic arm of the organization with donations over the years in the hundreds of thousands of dollars including equipment at Tomah Memorial, support to construct the hospital’s Serenity House, Warrens Clinic and the new Tomah Health facility under construction on Tomah’s south side.
A going out of business sale is underway at the store which will close October 23, while the organization’s last meeting will be held October first.
