Nitrate Testing Lab in Wood County Expected to Be Ready By January
Juneau County will help fund equipment for a new nitrates testing lab that would be hosted in Wood County. Juneau County will use funds from the builders of the Badger-Coulee Transmission line. Wood County would provide staff in addition to hosting it. Juneau County citizens would be able to take their water to be tested at the lab. Juneau County has worked with Wood County on other environmental testing services, says Juneau County Health Officer Barb Theis. The lab is expected to be ready by January of 2019. Nitrate levels in well water became a concern earlier in the year both Wood and Juneau Counties.
