Federal Charges Filed Against Retired Beloit Police Officer

Federal authorities are charging a retired Beloit police officer with taking an underage girl across state lines to have sex with her.  Larry Woods has been indicted by a federal grand jury.  He is accused of transporting the minor from Wisconsin to Illinois for sex.  The girl told investigators Woods had sexual contact with her more than 100 times over a seven-month period.  He was caught when her mother found inappropriate videos of the two on her daughter’s cell phone.  Woods made an initial appearance at U-S District Court in Madison Wednesday.  His trial is set for February.
