Juneau County in Process of Purchasing Well Water Testing Machine
The Juneau County Board approved a motion to purchase a Well Water Testing Machine at its August meeting. The board hopes to use ATC funds for the purchase that’s expected to cost around $17,000 but no more than $20,000. It costs the county $50 to have the state test well water this machine would only cost about $5 per test. These test results will also come back much faster than if the state were to do it. County Board Chairman Alan Peterson says “This is one of the best things done for the County in a long time.” The machine would also be used for testing in Wood County. It was discovered early this year that parts of Juneau County has an issue with high nitrate levels in their wells.
