Ron Kind’s Republican Challenger Steve Toft Believes Facebook Ads Unjustly Censored

A republican challenger to Congressman Ron Kind believes Facebook unjustly censored his campaign ads over Memorial Day weekend.  Retired Army officer Steve Toft claims Facebook took down 6 of his ads with little to no explanation.  “It is unconscionable that Facebook would target my campaign and our ads for censorship.” said Toft.  A Facebook spokesman declined to comment but did provide background on the new Facebook political advertising policy.  Under the new policy, designed to help readers know where political content is coming from, advertisers must confirm their identity and location, and political ads must include a “paid for by” label.
