April Snow Creates Record-Setting Year At Granite Peak Ski Resort
Not everybody was disappointed when a blizzard roared through parts of Wisconsin last month. Granite Peak Ski Resort in Wausau set records when the season was extended — twice — to May 6th. It was originally scheduled to end in mid-April and the resort had never been open for skiing in May. The winter season at the location in central Wisconsin also opened a little earlier than normal. Skiers hit the slopes November 17th, but a warm-up temporarily stopped snow production a few days later.
