Grass Fire Destroys Town of Byron Shed

A shed was destroyed by a fire in the Town of Byron earlier this week.  The shed was located on Highway 173.  Oakdale Fire Department was reported to the shed fire around 2:14 in the afternoon after a state patrol officer witnessed a grass fire. The grass fire reached the shed and completely destroyed it but the Oakdale Fire Department was able to keep the fire from spreading to other buildings.  The Oakdale Fire Department helped fill in for the Lincoln Fire Department who was on call to another fire.  Oakdale’s 20 member crew spent 3 hours fighting the fire.  No injuries were reported.
