>>Former Milwaukee Police Officer Reaches Plea Agreement

(Milwaukee, WI)  —  A former Milwaukee police officer could be sentenced to 15 years in prison as part of a plea deal reached this week.  Sexual assault charges against Dominique Heaggan-Brown were dropped one month before his trial was scheduled to start.  In another case, Heaggan-Brown had been acquitted last June in the fatal shooting of Sylville Smith while he was still on the job.  Smith’s death in August 2016 led to riots.  One of the sexual assault charges was based on an incident one day after Smith was shot.  Heaggan-Brown was fired shortly after the charge was filed.

>>Food Service Employee Arrested For Bringing Gun To School

(Shawano, WI)  —  Shawano police say a 56-year-old food services worker was arrested at the high school Wednesday.  Witnesses say the man lifted up his shirt to show the gun to a co-worker before classes had started.  His name hasn’t been released.  The Shawano High School Administration was notified about the gun and police were called.  An investigation determined there was no threat to students or staff.  Shawano police are asking the prosecutor to charge the man with possession of a firearm in a school zone, carry in a public building and obstructing an officer.
