Four Marklein Bills Pass The Senate; Head to the Assembly
Four bills authored by 17th Senate District Senator Howard Marklein passed the State Senate Tuesday. Marklein said that the best ideas come from those who are living and working in our communities. The bills are Senate Bill (SB) 360, SB 420, SB 392, and SB 417. SB 360 would waive the special registration license plate fee for fire fighter, rescue squad, emergency medical technician (EMTs) and first responder license plates. SB 420 would allow minors to be employed without a child labor permit if they are working at a business owned by their parents, guardians or grandparents. SB 392 would authorize a municipality to decide whether ATVs/UTVs may be operated on state highways within their territorial boundaries where the speed limit is 35 mph or less. Finally, SB 417 would make Wisconsin a member of the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact. These bills now move to the Assembly for consideration.
