78 Year old Kendall Man Killed in Moped/Farm Accident

Monroe County Sheriff Scott Perkins reports the Monroe County 911 Communications Center received a 911 call at approximately 10:19 A.M. of a crash involving a farm tractor and moped, which resulted in a single fatality.  The crash occurred on County Highway P, north of Orchard Road in the Township of Wellington.

78 year old Otto Zinke Jr. of Kendall, WI was operating a 2006 Yamaha moped when he struck an implement attached to a tractor that had stopped to turn onto a field road.  Zinke was ejected from the moped onto the implement, resulting in the fatal injury.

Assisting the Sheriff’s Office at the scene were the Ontario Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, Wilton EMS, Tomah Ambulance, Kendall Fire Dept., the Monroe County Medical Examiners Office and the Monroe County 911 Communications Center.

The crash remains under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
