Upcoming American Red Cross Blood Drives This Month

The American Red Cross urges eligible donors of all races and ethnicities to give blood to help ensure a diverse blood supply for patients in need. Some blood types are unique to certain racial and ethnic groups, so a diverse blood supply is important to meeting the medical needs of an increasingly diverse patient populations. Donors of all racial and ethnic backgrounds, as well as all blood types, are needed to help patients fight sickle cell disease, alpha thalassemia and other illnesses.

Upcoming blood drives are:

October 12 – First Baptist Church in New Lisbon from 11:30pm – 5:30pm

October 16 – Adams Community Center from 12:30pm – 5:30pm

October 21 – Battle of Badges, Sparta Fire Department from 7:30am – 12pm

October 25 – Western Technical College Safety Training Center in Sparta from 12pm – 5pm

October 26 – Tomah VA Hospital Building from 9am – 3pm

October 27 – Fort McCoy 10:30am-3:30pm at McCoy’s

Anyone 17 or older who is in general good health and meets eligibility requirements is encouraged to donate blood. Make an appointment to donate blood by visiting redcrossblood.org or calling 1-800-733-2767.
