Seat Belts Car Seats Help Save Accident Victims from Serious Injuries

Sheriff Spears is pleased to report a mother and her son, age 2, are safe after their vehicle went off a rural Vernon County highway. The vehicle rolled down a very steep embankment. The passenger side window broke where the 2 year old was properly restrained in a child safety seat. Without proper restraints, the child, weighing less than 30 pounds, could have easily been ejected out that broken window. Mom reports her child slept through the ordeal. The child seemed to enjoy his ride home in the sheriff’s patrol car. After eating the deputy’s granola bars, he fell asleep again.

Sheriff Spears and Chief Deputy Campbell appreciate our very own certified child restraint technicians, Morgan Paulson and Ryan Easterday. We are glad to offer this service to our community and Morgan or Ryan would be happy to help you. Just call 608-637-2123
