Potential harmful parasite to trout and salmon found in northern Wisconsin

Myxobolus cerebralis is a microscopic parasite that damages the cartilage and nerve tissue of trout and salmon and has been known to cause whirling disease, which can cause fish to swim erratically and create difficulties feeding and avoiding predators.
