Nekoosa Man Arrested for 2nd Offense OWI Then Threatens Officer

A 47 year old Nekoosa man is facing charges of Threat to Law Enforcement Officer, OWI 2nd Offense, and Resisting an Officer.  A Rome police officer noticed a vehicle driven by Byron Childers drifting over the center line.  The officer performed a stop and noticed Childers had blood shot eyes and an odor of intoxicants emitting from his breath.  Childers blew a .197 on a breathalyzer test and failed the field sobriety test.  Childers was placed under arrest.  Childers allegedly told the officer he should have shot the officer dead when he had the chance and that when he got out he would make the officer pay.
