Mauston Man Facing Charges After Allegedly Assaulting Girlfriend over Broken TV

A 41 year old Mauston man is facing charges of Strangulation and Suffocation, Domestic Abuse, Substantial Battery, Misdemeanor Battery, and Disorderly Conduct after a drunken fight with his girlfriend.  A Mauston police officer reported to a residence on Tremont Street for a report of a physical disturbance between a male and female.  The officer met Gregory Wolfenbarger in his driveway and asked Wolfenbarger what was going on.  Wolfenbarger stated he and his “old lady” got into a fight because of a broken TV.  The victim came out to talk to the officer and showed him her swollen and bruised areas on her face.  The victim said Wolfenbarger was upset the TV wouldn’t work and began chocking her until the point where she passed out.  When the victim regained consciousness she alleges Wolfenbarger was kicking her in the ribs.  The victim called 9-1-1 when Wolfenbarger left the residence.
