Female cancer patients have the opportunity to ‘Look Good…Feel Better’ at Mile Bluff
The healthcare professionals at Mile Bluff have teamed up with area cosmetologists to offer a program to ladies who are undergoing cancer treatments. On Tuesday, November 6, Mile Bluff will hold its next ‘Look Good…Feel Better’® group training session.
The event is a two-hour, hands-on workshop with a ‘Look Good…Feel Better’® volunteer beauty professional. During the meeting, participants are taught nail care techniques and a 12-step skin care/make-up application process. Ladies will also learn about available options for dealing with hair loss – including wigs, scarves and accessories.
‘Look Good…Feel Better’® is a free, non-medical, brand-neutral public service program. It was created to help women with cancer look good, improve their self-esteem and ultimately manage their treatment and recovery with confidence. Through its group meetings, self-help materials, websites and brochures, ‘Look Good…Feel Better’® offers women advice for coping with the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatments.
If you are a lady who is receiving cancer treatments, and would like to ‘Look Good…Feel Better’®, come to Mile Bluff Medical Center in Mauston on Tuesday, November 6 from 9 to 11 am. As a participant, you will take home free make-up kits, program information and a rebuilt self-esteem to face your treatments with added confidence.
