Bernard John Puhl, age 91 of rural Mauston, Wisconsin passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Tuesday, November 23, 2021.  Bernard was born August 20, 1930 to a German immigrant father and mother in Racine, Wisconsin.  Shortly after his birth the family relocated to Wonewoc, Wisconsin to start farming after his father, John Gottlieb Puhl lost his job at Nash Motor Company during the Depression.  He graduated Wonewoc High School in 1947 and attended the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Port, New York for a short time.  He returned to Wisconsin in 1948 and joined Madison Gas and Electric in Madison, Wisconsin.  He fell in love

Joyce Skaer, 78 of Mauston passed away, Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Mile Bluff Medical Center, Mauston.   Joyce was born June 21, 1943 in the township of Lindina to Frank and Mary Bires.  She attended Mauston area schools.    Joyce married Dennis Skaer and was blessed with four sons, Robert, Donald, William and Hertz.  Joyce was baptized at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and was a lifelong member. Joyce was active in many activities at church.  Joyce was a member of the homemakers club in Lindina and was active in 4-H club.  Joyce worked in direct sales for Home Interior and Gifts for 25 years.  She also was a florist
