LWV Urges A State Budget Prioritizing Quality of Life

Madison Shooting By Officer Under Independent Investigation

WISCONSINREPORT.COM (03/10/2015) – The shooting incident in Madison, Wisconsin, Friday, involving a police officer, is now the subject of an independent investigation mandated by Wisconsin law. The law was co-authored by Madison area State Assembly Representative Chris Taylor (D-Madison) in the last session of the State Legislature. Coincidentally, she says she was in the area where the Friday shooting took place.

Wisconsin Assembly Sends Right To Work To Gov. Walker

WISCONSINREPORT.COM (03/06/2015) – After turning down Democrat amendments, the Republican controlled Wisconsin Assembly passed the controversial Right To Work bill today. The legislation provides for voluntary union membership, and does not change existing contracts until the contract ends. Senate Bill 44 allows the employee the freedom to choose whether or not to belong to a union.

Wisconsin DWD Improving Re-Employment Services

WISCONSINREPORT.COM (03/02/2015) – The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) is, effectively, re-launching Re-Employment Services this month, with enhanced, renewed energy. The DWD is making, what has been referred to as, significant  improvements to its federally mandated Re-employment Services (RES) System. The service is part of ongoing efforts to help Unemployment Insurance (UI) claimants return to work quickly.
