Car Trouble Leads to Drug Charges Against Pardeeville Woman

A Pardeeville woman is facing drug charges after having car troubles back in April.  25 year old Samantha Maroney had her car pulled off to the side of the interstate in Juneau County.  Authorities came to check out the situation made contact with Maroney.  Authorities also noticed another person sound asleep in the back seat.  Maroney told the State Trooper everything was alright and she was about to leave.  The trooper advised her she needed to shut the hood before she could leave.  She shut the hood however the battery was dead and the car wouldn’t start.  The person in the back seat stayed asleep despite the loud noises.  The trooper waited at the scene for someone to come help her out.  During this time the trooper asked for the Sauk County K9 unit to come out for a free air sniff.  The K9 unit alerted to the presence of drugs.  A search found sub Oxone and other drug related items.  The backseat passenger did eventually wake up but seemed out of sorts.  Maroney was placed under arrest and faces charges of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
