>>Family Members Hide While Armed Intruders Burglarize Their House
(Milwaukee, WI) — Multiple surveillance cameras captured three armed burglars breaking into a Milwaukee house and getting away with electronics. Thevy Pena and her 12-year-old son were in the home at the time. The son was on the couch when the men started kicking in the front door. He ran upstairs and joined his mother in a bedroom with the door locked. The video shows the masked robbers going through the first floor of the home, carrying their weapons while looking for stuff to steal. They started up the stairs, then stopped and ran outside just before police arrived.

(Eau Claire, WI) — An Eau Claire County judge decides a man who killed his wife and teenage daughter will remain under supervision. Cher Cha Moua had petitioned the court for release, pointing out he had gone six years with violating his commitment order. The Altoona man had been on supervised release after spending 11 years in a mental institution. He was found not guilty of the 1998 double-murder due to insanity. Eau Claire County Judge Jon Thiesen said Moua doesn’t come across as stable. Thiesen pointed out Moua blames the murders on stress, yet admits he currently feels overwhelmed.

(Lena, WI) — A 50-year-old man who had a 10-hour armed standoff with law enforcement officers has been charged with five counts of attempted first-degree intentional homicide. Thomas Benser faces a total of 14 charges in the Saturday incident. Authorities say he tried to kill his former girlfriend by choking her, then left as she called 9-1-1. When officers surrounded his house the next day he fired several shots — two of them near-misses. Nobody was injured and Benser was eventually taken into custody.
