New Lisbon School Board Approves Short-Term Borrowing

The New Lisbon School Board approved a resolution for short term borrowing at its meeting on Monday night. Superintendent Dennis Birr said each year at the annual meeting in August the district voters approve authorizing the school board to borrow money on short-term loans. The resolution was for the district to borrow from time to time in an amount not to exceed $1.4 million through Royal Bank. The resolution was approved unanimously.

The board also approved a science curriculum course proposal. Junior High/High School Principal Gary Syftestad said Chanyn Dorn proposed combining the Natural Resources class with the Ecology class to create a Wildlife Ecology Class, as there was a lot of crossover between the two classes. It would be a year long course and a full credit. The board approved the proposal unanimously.

The board also approved:

  • Five requests for early graduation
  • The hiring of a high school boys junior varsity basketball coach
