Mauston Man Charged with 3rd Offense Drunk Driving
Michael Schwartz 51, of Mauston is being referred to the Monroe County District Attorney for 3rd Offense Drunk Driving. Schwartz was pulled over April 6th in the Town of Oakdale for driving 72 in a 55 MPH Zone. Authorities noticed Schwartz had slurred speech and when asked to step out of the vehicle was unsteady on his feet. Schwartz, who has an active warrant from Rock County, denied being under the influence of alcohol or drugs. He was taken to the Monroe County Jail where he failed a field sobriety test and blew a .16 on a breathalyzer test.
