Friendship Woman Faces Drug Charges after being Pulled Over in Mauston
A Friendship woman is facing multiple drug charges after an October 19th traffic stop. A Mauston Police officer was patrolling traffic that night and did a random registration check on a vehicle driving by. The registration showed it belonged to 36 year old Megan Smith. Smith had “surrendered” her license according to the criminal complaint. The officer noticed the vehicle driving slowly in parking lot in Mauston and initiated a traffic stop. The officer also requested backup including the K9 unit. The K9 unit arrived and alerted authorities to the presence of illegal drugs. A search of the vehicle turned up multiple drug related items as well as multiple knives. Drug and drug related items found included THC, methamphetamine, and smoking pipes. Smith was placed under arrest and faces charges of Bail Jumping, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of THC, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Carry a Concealed Knife.
