False Identification and Marijuana Leads to Arrests in Juneau County
On the afternoon of March 16th on I-90/94 in Juneau County, State Patrol executed a traffic stop for a defective headlight. The car was driven by Brandon Lee Worm 31, of La Cresent, Minnesota whom was driving with a female passenger later identified as Dawn Lindley, 30 of La Crosse. The Trooper noticed Lindley acting nervous and rigid in the passenger seat. Both occupants of the vehicle gave false names to the Trooper; Brandon Lee Wurm originally identified himself as Bryan Joseph Wurm, while Lindley identified herself as Jennifer Rae Hoffman. The Trooper also smelled an odor of marijuana. Wurm was then asked to step out of his vehicle and while being searched the State Trooper found a dozen unused gem bags Wurm said was used to put marijuana in. The State Trooper along with an arriving New Lisbon Officer detained Wurm and asked Lindley to step out of the vehicle. The Officer noticed whenever Lindley was questioned about items she would turn to Wurm before answering. The authorities searched the car finding items such as small bags of marijuana, multiple glass pipes, two digital scales, an open and an unopened beer can, along with five butane torches. The officer also found Lindley’s identification with her real name. Lindley was charged with Felony Bail Jumping, Obstructing an Officer, and several drug charges. Wurm also faces charges including Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Open Intoxicants, and Obstruction. Lindley and Wurm were taken to Juneau County Jail.
