The New Lisbon School Board received positive news about the school’s pupil count at its Monday night meeting. Superintendent Dennis Birr said the number of students living in the district went up by 32 this year. The number of residents with open enrollment is 630, and Birr said that’s people who live in the district regardless of where they attend school. On open enrollment, 112 students open enrolled into the district, while 69 enrolled out, leaving a plus of 43 students. The City of Mauston will be holding a ribbon cutting and grand opening for the city’s new dog park. The event will be Monday, October 16th at 5pm at Oak Ridge Park. The 1.6 acre dog park was opened in September. It was funded by a DNR grant and several local donations. Three people were injured in a two vehicle crash on County Highway H in Sauk County Monday morning. According to the release from the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office, the initial investigation revealed that a vehicle, driven by 30-year-old Jessica Thomas of Reedsburg was westbound on County Highway H in the township of Dellona. The vehicle crossed the center line and collided with another vehicle that was being operated by 42-year-old Tracy Pierce of Wonewoc.  Officials say Thomas, Pierce, and a passenger in Pierce’s vehicle, 38-year-old Sarah Davis of Wonewoc were all injured in the crash.
